Collection of Money

It is important that any money brought to school is placed in either a school envelope (available from the office) or a plain envelope with the child’s name, grade, the amount of money and what the money is for. Please place envelopes in the school letterbox in the front foyer. This letter box is cleared each day. Banking information is available at the school office.

Conveyance Allowance

Families who reside more than 4.8km from Yellingbo Primary School and this is their closest or second closest school may be eligible for Conveyance Allowance. Details and application forms are available from the school office.

Lunch Orders

Yellingbo Primary School has a lunch order arrangement with the Yellingbo General Store. Lunches can be ordered each day of the week. Orders must be placed at the store first thing in the morning by student, parent or guardian.

Yellingbo Primary School encourages healthy lunches when ordering from the store. The school however does not permit drinks in glass containers, sports drinks or energy drinks to be brought to school. Preferred drinks are water, milk or juice.

Student Absences

Any child who becomes ill during the school day will be cared for until we can contact you and they have been collected. A child, however, who is obviously sick in the morning before arriving to school should be kept at home.

If your child is absent from school, could you please send a note on the first day of the childs return to school.

Reporting to Parents

Assessment is continuous and varied and written reports are provided to parents in June and December. The reports are designed to give an accurate account of achievement and summary of performance.

Term 1

  • You Tell Us Evenings – to allow parents to meet and give the teacher relevant information about their child
  • Year Level Information Meetings – to inform parents of the current programs and routines, and to introduce the teacher to the parent community.

Term 2

  • Written Report
  • 3 Way Student- Teacher- Parent Conference

Term 4

  • Written Report and optional Parent/Teacher interviews

Information evenings on particular aspects of curriculum may also be presented from time to time. Please remember that teachers are available for interviews at any time during the year. It is necessary, however to make an appointment for a mutually convenient time which we will try to arrange upon your request.

Parents are actively encouraged to contact their child’s Class Teacher or the Principal to discuss their child’s education at any time during the year. It is important to let us know of any issues at home that will impact on student learning. In the same way, we will inform you of any concerns we have about your child’s progress.
